Under (c) Elderly and Handicapped Tenant Rights - <br />It was moved by Mayor Mercer that the lifetime lease provision be changed to "7 <br /> ns" <br />years for senior citizens and 9 years for handicapped perso . The motion died <br />for lack of a second. It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Council- <br />member Butler, that the lifetime lease provision be changed to "9 years for senior <br />citizens and 7 years for handicapped persons". <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Under the same section (c), it was moved by Councilmember Mohr that "Any elderly <br />or handicapped tenant, as defined in Section 2-4.47, who has resided in a dwelling <br />unit for twelve months or more .... He stated <br />he felt the condominium conversion ordinance should be enacted and thus show good <br />faith on the part of the Council that they are seriously looking at conversion. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bob Questa stated he had tenants who wanted to .convert and he felt it was <br />not fair for them to have to wait. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gil Barbee, 147 Bernal Avenue, stated he felt Mr. Perry would agree to go <br />through the Subdivision Map Act process, accepting as requirements all the condo- <br />minium standards and tenant protection provisions of the proposed ordinance if he <br />were allowed to be exempted from the moratorium. <br /> <br /> 5. 4/21/81 <br /> <br /> <br />
