341 <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart withdrew his second to the motion. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood seconded the motion made by Mayor Mercer. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote on Resolution No. 81-82, supporting the City of Livermore's <br /> ~osition in opposition to the Northbluff ?ro3ect was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: Councilmember Kephart <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer instructed staff to advise the City of Livermore of the above <br /> action and vote. <br /> <br /> Discussion .of New Police Fac.~lity DeSign <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 81:94) dated March 19, 1981, regarding this <br /> matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember <br /> Kephart, to authorize further study of a building size 12,036 sq. ft., at an esti- <br /> mated cost of $1,099,702; appoint a committee consisting of Councilmembers Kephart <br /> and Mobr, Architect Jack Bras, the Police Chief and City Manager, to review the best <br /> project available within these limits, and to make recommendations for further con- <br /> sideration by Council. <br /> The roll call. v0te~as as.ifoll0wq: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br /> <br /> Discussion of Valley Avenue Extension and Railroad CrossinS <br /> Mr. Joe Callahen, representing CPS and Associates, presented an oral report <br /> and displayed maps showing various alternatives for the extension of Valley Avenue <br />-and the railroad crossing. <br /> <br /> The Director of Public Works and Utilities reviewed the background' information <br /> relative to this matter. He stated he had met with representatives of the railroad <br /> and PUC and that they favored the alternative that was nearest to the General Plan. <br /> He stated both agencies advised they would not be able to assist financially in <br /> these improvements. <br /> <br /> Mr. Callahan stated his firm is attempting to get Valley Avenue extended from <br />Santa Rite Road to Stanley Boulevard with appropriate signalization, and would like <br />to involve the other developers in the area to share the costs, and that the object <br />of this presentation is to get concurrance from Council to go ahead with negotiations <br />with other developers to achieve these improvements. After questions and discussion, <br />Council concurred. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Walker presented the Information Report of the Fire Chief dated March 18, <br /> 1981, transmitting the Annual Report for 1980. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that the terms of Joyce Getty and Gregg Doherty on the <br />Planning Commission would expire on May 5, 1981, and that Florence Jane Correa <br />had resigned as Komandorski Village representative on the Pleasanton Housing <br />Authority. After discussion, Council instructed staff to advertise as per Council <br />policy for these vacancies, with the deadline for receiving resumes to be 5:00 p.m., <br />April 24, 1981, and interviews scheduled on May 4 and 7, 1981, beginning at <br />7:00 p.m., at 15 minute intervals. <br /> <br /> 13. 3124/81 <br /> <br /> <br />
