MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> November 16, 1981 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth Mercer called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> The roll call is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and <br /> Mayor Mercer were present. Councilmember Kephart was absent. Mr. Walker, City <br /> Manager, Mr. Levine,-City Attorney, Mr. Warnick, Director of Public Works and <br /> Utilities, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. Miller, <br /> Assistant to the City Manager, Mr. Eastman, Police Chief, Mr. Hill, Fire Chief, <br /> Mrs. Wagner, Director of Finance, and Mrs. Bengtson, Director of Recreation and <br /> Human Resources, were present. Also present were Planning Commissioners Doherty, <br /> Getty, Jamieson, Lindsey, and Wilson. <br /> <br /> PRESENTATION FOR PROPOSED HAC.I~NpA..BUS.INESS PARK <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that the purpose of this meeting is to allow Prudential <br /> Insurance Company and CPS and Associates to present their proposed plans for the <br /> Hacienda Business Park for the information of the Council and Planning Commission. <br /> He advised that no action will be required or taken by Council on this item at this <br /> meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. 3oe Callahen, representing Prudential Insurance Company and CPS and Asso- <br /> ciates, presented plans for the 573-acre business park proposed to be built on the <br /> east side of Hopyard Road in the area of Stoneridge Drive. He stated it would have <br /> light industry, commercial uses and other offices as well as three 6-story office <br /> towers. He advised that a park-like image is being sought and is to be accomplished <br /> with thousandsof trees, 50 to 100 foot setbacks for buildings, vine-covered sound- <br /> walls off Hopyard Road, walkways and Jogging paths. Mr. Callahen stated that grading <br /> and flood improvements are being accomplished at this time, and that street improve- <br /> ments are planned to be completed next year. He advised there is sewer capacity <br /> available now for approximately 200 acres of development and that a Reverse Osmosis <br /> Plant is being planned to provide the additional capacity needed to develop the re- <br /> maining portion of the park. He stated that the second phase of the development <br /> will be 230 acres in the northeast section of the park and those plans are projected <br /> to be filed with the City in the summer of 1982. <br /> <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 9:30 P.M., Mayor Mercer adjourned the Special <br /> Meeting, to meet again in Regular Session on November 24, 1981, 8:00 P.M., at the <br /> Fairgrounds Cafeteria. <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted,. <br /> <br />S R~ WAL"J~R, C CLERK " <br /> <br /> <br />
