Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application and the negative <br />declaration. <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in opposition to this item: <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Wall, 3437 Vineyard Avenue, stated he was opposed to this project because <br />of the increased traffic that will be generated in front of his property. He stated <br />he did not feel that residents in the area had been properly notified. He requested <br />that the item be continued to allow property owners in this area to fully review the <br />plans. He stated many of his neighbors are opposed to the extension of Pico Avenue. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Barbara Earl, 3263 Vineyard Avenue, stated that residents of the mobile home <br />park had not been notified of this public hearing, and she requested the item be con- <br />tinued so they would have time to study the plans. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jeff Rodgets, 3727 Vine.Street, stated he purchased his home because of the <br />rural atmosphere of the area, and he was opposed to any improvement that would change <br />this lifestyle. <br /> <br /> Mr. G. L. Goudreau, 5451 Corte Paloma~ stated he was opposed to this item because <br />of traffic impacts. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing continued Open on the <br />plans relating to the extension of Pico Avenue between Vineyard Avenue and the Del <br />Valle Parkway, consisting of the construction of a two-lane thoroughfare and bridge <br />over the Arroyo Del Valle, the installation of a 12" water line within the corres- <br />ponding right-of-way, and the extension of the Del Valle Parkway roadway connection, <br />and accompanying negative declaration, to the meeting of November 24, 1981, 8:00 P.M~, <br />Fairgrounds Cafeteria. He instructed staff to meet with residents in the area of Pico <br />and Vineyard in order to fully inform them of the plans for the extension of Pico <br />Avenue. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer recessed the meeting at 10:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer reconvened the meeting at 10:10 P.M. <br /> <br />Appeal of Valley Business Associates of a decision of the Plannin~ Commission denying <br />a major modification to Case PUD-80-1 to change the streets in the business park <br />proposed for the 69 acre site located south of Valley. Hempy and Robert <br />and Margaret Starnes to fezone an approximately 9 acre area on the west side of Foot- <br />hill Road, north of Highland Oaks Drive in the vicinity of 5050 and 5100 Foothill Road <br /> <br /> 8. 11/10/81 <br /> <br /> <br />
