MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 25, 1981 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Kenneth Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br />F" Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. Mr. <br />T~ Walker, City Manager, Mr. Leviue, City Attorney, Mr. Warnick, Director of Public <br />CO Works and Utilities, and Mr. Harris, Director of Planning.and Community Development, <br />~ were present. <br /> <br /> AGKNDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker requested that the three items on the agenda related to housing (Sa, <br /> 12e, and 13a) be discussed simultaneously at the end of the agenda. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker requested that item 8c - Appeal of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of <br /> certain conditions of approval set by the Design Review Board in approving the design <br /> of an approximately 46,000 sq. ft. medical office building proposed to be constructed <br /> at the southwest corner of Springdale Avenue and Stoneridge Mall Road, be continued <br /> to the meeting of September 8, 1981, at the request of the appellant. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised there would be an Executive Session at the conclusion of this <br /> meeting to discuss labor relations and personnel. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br /> the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for August 11, 1981. <br /> <br /> b. Proclaim October 4-10, 1981, as Symphony Week in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Ordinance No. 988, approving the application of Albert Rennet for <br /> PUD zoning and development plan approval for a 63,000 sq. ft. combination office <br /> building and carpenters training center proposed for the eight acre site located <br /> on the east side of Santa Rita Road approximately 250 north of Mohr Avenue. <br /> <br /> Ms. Joyce Getty, 925 Kottinger Drive, Chairperson of the Planning Commission, <br /> expressed opposition to adoption of this ordinance, stating she felt strongly <br /> that this is not a good location for this particular use, and that the developer <br /> had not given straight answers relative to the project. <br /> <br /> d. Adoption of Ordinance No. 989, approving the application of Vintage Associates, <br /> Ltd., for Planned Unit Development zoning and development plan approval for a <br /> 108-unit townhouse project located on a 7.19 acre site immediately behind the <br /> shopping center on Pico Avenue between Tawny and Palomino Drives, the property <br /> is zoned PUD (Planned Unit Development-High Density Residential) District. <br /> <br /> e. Adoption of Resolution No. 81-268, approving Claims for the month of July, 1981, <br /> in the amount of $713,353.98. <br /> <br /> <br />
