Industries~ for <br />development plan approval which would allow the construction of ~ 48~00o p~..ft. <br />two-storX office buildin~ to be located at the southeast corner of Stoneridge Drive <br />and Foothill Road, the prpposed pr~p_e_rty is zoned "PUD-Commercial/Office" <br />(intro. 7-28-81, 4-Ayes, 1-Absent) <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that Ordinance No. 986 was introduced on July 28, 1981, by <br />a vote of 4-Ayes, 1-Absent, add that it was now in order to adopt the ordinance. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Ordinance No. 986, approving the application of M.A.I. Industries, for development <br />plan approval which would allow the construction of a 48,000 sq. ft., two-story <br />office building to be located at the southeast corner of Stoneridge Drive and Foot- <br />hill Road, the proposed property is zoned "PUD-Commercial/Office", be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Substance Abuse <br /> Ms. Bengtson presented the report of the Human Services Commission dated July <br />23, 1981, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Council endorsed the report of the Human Services Commission <br />as follows: (1) support and promote a climate of openmindedness and awareness in <br />the City of Pleasanton, in the Pleasanton School District, and in the media serving <br />Pleasanton in the area of substance abuse; (2) support the efforts of Parents Who <br />Care, Community Based Organizations, and any other legitimate organization offering <br />services in the area of substance abuse; (3) prioritize law enforcement directed <br />against narcotic dealers at a higher level to allow more budget hours directed in <br />this specific area; (4) support a local workshop for those professionals who work <br />with youth (schools, police, agencies, churches,'recreators, etc.) to exchange in- <br />formation, provide updated information from other professionals considered experts <br />in specific areas of substance abuse, and to develop a city communication network <br />in this specific area; and (5) continue to support alternative leisure activities <br />for youth and adults. Council instructed the City Manager and Police Chief to work <br />together to prioritize law enforcement against narcotic dealers at a higher level <br />if possible. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Report on Request for Annexation~ 35 acres at Martin Avenue and Mohr Avenue <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 81:269) dated August 4, 1981, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> lo. 8/11/81 <br /> <br /> <br />
