Growth Management Long-Term Agreement with Morrison Homes
This matter was continued as the parties had not yet reached agreement.

Information Report on Assessment of Nonprofit Hospital Corporations
Mr. Swift presented his Information Report (IR 82:18) dated June 17, 1982,
regarding this matter.

Council reviewed the report and determined that there was no action required.

Mr. Swift indicated that after the discussion earlier concerning item 8c, design
review of the Super 8 Motel - application of Rossi Development and Hopyard Associates,
it would be appropriate for Council to initiate a review of the eastern alignment of
the Johnson-Hopyard intersection and possible modifications to Old Hopyard Road by
Planning Commission with recommendations to go back to Council. The review is timing
because if realignment/widening is required, portions of the work would need to be
done with the Hopyard improvements, and if condemnation were necessary, it must be
done on the basis of Council's determination of where the roads should be.

It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer,
that a review of the eastern side of the intersection of Johnson Drive and Hopyard
Road should be made by Planning Commission with their recommendations to come back
before Council.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: CounCilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Wood, and Vice ~yor Mohr
NOES: None
ABSENT: Mayor Butler

COMMUNICATIONS
Letter from Ralph Juhl and L. Halverson
Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 82:225) dated June 17, 1982, regarding
this matter relative to change of the general plan designation of property on
Valley Avenue.

Dr. Ralph Juhl, 2680 Foothill Road, spoke to Council asking it to delay or
rescind its action initiating a general plan amendment changing the designation
of his and Mrs. Halverson's properties on Valley Avenue to medium density resi-
dential from high density residential. Dr. Juhl felt that if given several months
he could meet with the neighbors and overcome their opposition to high density
development.

Discussion ensued among the Council and staff and it was determined that the
best course of action would be to go through the usual process to amend the
General Plan. This would give Dr. Juhl until some time in August to contact his
neighbors and would allow a fuller discussion at public meetings as to the density
the subject properties should be designated.

Council directed staff to schedule the general plan amendment hearings for the
last meeting in August regarding the properties of Dr. Ralph Juhl and Mrs. Leontine
Halverson.

CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR
Mr. Walker presented the City Council Calendar for the information of the
Council.

13. 6/22/82
