· 345 <br /> <br />Amendment of Ordinance Relating to Charitable Solicitations <br /> The City Attorney presented his report (SR 82:469) dated November 16, <br />1982 regarding this item. Mr. Curt Altschul expressed concern that the <br />Citizens for Balanced Growth were being harassed by the requirement to <br />apply for a permit and pay fees and also indicated the need for confidentiality <br />regarding the list of solicitors. Mr. MacDonald assured him that there <br />would be no fee to pay and the list of solicitors is protected by the <br />Public Records Act. <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Mohr, that Ordinance No. 1062 amending Article 1 (Solicitors <br />and Certain Businesses), Chapter 2 (Special Permits) of Title IV of the <br />Ordinance Code to be read by title only and waiving further reading <br />thereof, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer,Mohr, Wood and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Mr. Walker presented a letter he received from the Chairman of LAVWMA <br />requesting City Council approval of a study related to LAVWMA providing <br />additional wastewater export capacity. This is the very first stage and <br />there is no financial information available at this time. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Wood, that Resolution No. 82-475, approving recommendations <br />#1 and #2 of the letter to the City Manager, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler presented a letter he received from the Mayor of Livermore <br />requesting Pleasanton's support in Livermore's opposition to development <br />on County property on the north edge of Livermore. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Wood, that Resolution No. 82-476, authorizing the City <br />Manager to send a letter to Livermore endorsing its position opposing <br />development on the north edge of Livermore, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mercer, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Walker indicated that the General Plan Review Committee planned to <br />have its first meeting on December 7, 1982 and asked if this date was <br />agreeable to Council. This date was approved. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker also indicated that the deadline for applicants for the <br />alternate commissioner positions is December 30, 1982. Councilmember Mercer <br />suggested a letter to previous applicants to the Boards and Commissions be <br />sent inquiring if they would serve as alternates. It was decided not to <br />do anything until after the beginning of the year and after further contacts <br />had been made. <br /> <br /> 12. 11/23/82 <br /> <br /> <br />
