MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 10, 1982 <br /> <br />INTERVIEWS FOR PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSIONERS <br /> The Mayor and Councilmembers met at 7:00 P.M., to interview the following persons <br />for consideration as members on the Park and Recreation Commission, because of the <br />expiration of terms of V. Sheldon Jones and Jack Keegan. <br /> <br /> Bernie Cooper <br /> Jacquie Oliverius <br /> V. Sheldon Jones <br /> Jack Keegan <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Butler called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br />8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as-follows: <br />Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Butler were present. Councilmember <br />Mohr was absent. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. Swift Assistant City Attorney, Mr. <br />Warnick, Director of Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning <br />and Community Development, Mr. Hill, Fire Chief, Mr. Klenk, Fire Marshal, Mr. East- <br />man, Police Chief, and Mrs. Wagner, Director of Finance, were present. <br /> <br />LITTLE LEAGUE PRESENTATION <br /> Representatives of the National Little League and American Little League presented <br />the perpetual annual little league tournament plaque to the City Council, thank them <br />for providing the finest fields in the area for this sport. Council accepted the <br />plaque with thanks and appreciation. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker requested that item 12g - Review of Construction Bids for Police <br />Facility and Request Pleasanton Public Facilities Corporation to Obtain Bond Bids, <br />be moved on the agenda to be considered after item 7 - Meeting Open to the Public. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker requested that items 4f - Review of bids and award of contract for <br />Amador Community Park Improvements, Project 82-10; and 4g - Review of bids and award <br />of contract for Rehabilitation of the Westwind Building in Amador Community Park, <br />Project 82-11, be moved to item 12k on the agenda. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker requested that two items be added to the Consent Calendar as item 4n - <br />Declare August 11, 1982 as Child Development Day; and item 4o - Proclaim August 9-14, <br />1982 as Muscular Dystrophy Bowl-A-Thon Week. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that a letter had been received this date from Mr. William <br />Hirst, Attorney, requesting that item 12a - Report on Request for Annexation; 3683 <br />Vineyard Avenue (north side of Vineyard Avenue west of Linden Way) Will and Gladys <br />Heinrich, be continued to September 14, 1982, for full Council attendance. Mr. <br />Chuck Muth, 3644 Vine Street, stated this item had been continued twice already and <br />he felt it a waste of time to continue it further. He asked for a preliminary vote <br />of the Council to be taken regarding this annexation request. Mayor Butler stated <br />he did not feel this would be appropriate and would be discourteous to the applicant. <br /> <br /> <br />
