CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 88-117 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING VARIOUS ACTIONS REGARDING <br /> LIVERMORE AIRPORT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of March 15, 1988, the City council <br /> reviewed the report of the City Manager (SR 88:109) <br /> regarding the concerns of Pleasanton citizens regarding <br /> the expansion of the Livermore airport; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton requests <br /> the Livermore City Council to adopt an ordinance <br /> requesting FAA approval of a policy directing aircraft <br /> departing to the west to make a 45 degree turn after <br /> obtaining the appropriate altitude, and prohibiting <br /> straight-in approaches from the west, thereby avoiding <br /> flying directly over Pleasanton residential areas at low <br /> altitudes. It is also requested that these procedures <br /> be broadcast on ATIS. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Council requests that an FAA 150 Noise Study <br /> be made of the Livermore Airport operations. <br /> <br />Section 3: The City Council requests the City Council of <br /> Livermore to widen the Livermore Airport Commission to <br /> include Valley-wide representation. <br /> <br />Section 4: The City Manager is directed to designate a staff <br /> member to deal with airport issues and to become <br /> involved in the complaint procedure. <br /> <br /> <br />
