Adoption of Resolution No. 84-460, approving final map, improvement plans, and <br /> Subdivision Agreement for Tract 5215, Fairlands Terrace Unit 3 - Fairlands Asso- <br /> ciates, and authorizing execution of the Subdivision Agreement by the appropriate <br /> city officials. <br /> <br />t. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-461, approving the Real Property Purchase Contract <br /> for the sale of surplus city property - 3,700 square feet at the northwest corner <br /> of Peters Avenue and Bernal Avenue to Mr. and Mrs. George Marment for $18,500.00, <br /> and authorizing execution of the necessary documents to complete the transaction <br /> by the appropriate city officials. <br /> <br />u. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-462, approving Valley Avenue extension agreement, <br /> and authorizing execution of the agreement by the appropriate city officials. <br /> Councilmember Wood abstained from voting on this item. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED:Councilmembers Brandes and Butler on item 4a <br /> Councilmember Wood on item 4u <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that Council has received a letter from John and Joan Caroline <br />requesting that the .ordinance and prezoning relative to the eight acre parcel on the <br />north side of Vineyard Avenue opposite the intersection of Mavis Drive, be reconsidered; <br />because he was not notified that there was to be any action taken at the last meeting <br />other than adoption of the ordinance prezoning the property to medium density district. <br />After discussion, Mayor Mercer instructed staff to place this item on the agenda of <br />October 2, 1984, for further consideration. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Wood advised that he and Mayor Mercer would be meeting with repre- <br />sentatives of the Dublin City Council tomorrow to discuss the Arroyo Vista Housing <br />project. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Ms. Lori Scott-Venter, 210 Rose Avenue, representing the Pleasanton Downtown <br />Association, invited Councilmembers to participate in the dunking booth on September <br />23, 1984, in connection with the Heritage Days festivities. <br /> <br /> Mr. Keith Warden, 4611 Third Street, addressed Council regarding the n~ed for a <br />library building. He requested the City Council to sanction the formation of a com- <br />mittee to investigate the feasibility of a new library building. He stated the com- <br />mittee could look into site location, design, etc., and present a specific proposal <br />for consideration by Council for inclusion in the Capital Improvement Program. Coun- <br />cilmembers expressed support of this matter. Mayor Mercer assigned the Director of <br />Recreation and Human Resources as liaison to that committee, and suggested that re- <br />presentatives from the senior citizens, Chamber of Commerce, and School District, be <br />included in the formation of the committee. He requested that a report be submitted <br />to Council including names to be considered for the committee, intent of the study, <br />and time line for the study. He suggested it be completed by January or February in <br />order to be included in the next five year Capital Improvement Program. Mr. Warden <br />stated he would get this information to Council within the next two weeks. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ben Tarver, 1144 Arak Court, presented a written communication to the Council <br />regarding Local Campaign Election Ordinance.
