199 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 28, 1984 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order <br />at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. CouncilmenLbers Brandes <br />and Butler were absent. Councilmember Butler was absent due to military reserve <br />duty. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. MacDonald, City Attorney, Mr. Warnick, Director <br />of Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Develop- <br />ment, and Mr. Stewart, Chief Building Inspector, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker requested that two items be added to the Consent Calendar as follows: <br /> <br /> item 4s - Extension of Bid Date for New Fire Station. <br /> <br /> item 4t - School Crossing Guard Addition. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that the <br />following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 8-14-84. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-421, approving the Baltastic United Soccer Ct~tb <br /> Parade permit application for parade on Sept~nber 8, 1984, subject to the fol- <br /> lowing conditions: (1) provide eleven civilian adults to report to the police <br /> department by 6:00 A.M., and assist in control of the route, and to remain at <br /> fitted posts until relieved by the officer in charge at the conclusion of the <br /> parade; and (2) make a timely notification to persons being affected b~ the <br /> parade route at least one week prior to the 8th; and amending the 1984-85 <br /> budget to include the police overtime expenses of $418.00. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-422, approving the Chamber of Commerce Heritage <br /> Days Parade permit application for parade on September 22, 1984; amending the <br /> 1984-85 budget to include the city's costs associated with the parade; the sponsor <br /> being required to comply with the parade conditions set forth in Section IV of <br /> Staff Report 84:459; and approving the parade route as recommended by staff. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-423, establishing stop signs for Kottinger Drive <br /> at its intersection with Concord Street. <br /> <br />e. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-424, accepting public improvements for Tract 5037, <br /> Heather Hill - Romeo Development Company, and authorizing the City Attorney to <br /> file a Notice of Completion. <br /> <br />f. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-425, accepting public improvements for Assessment <br /> District No. 1982-S, Fromm Business Park, and authorizing the City Attorney to <br /> file a Notice of Completion. <br /> <br /> <br />
