199 MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL August 28, 1984 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. CouncilmenLbers Brandes and Butler were absent. Councilmember Butler was absent due to military reserve duty. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. MacDonald, City Attorney, Mr. Warnick, Director of Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Develop- ment, and Mr. Stewart, Chief Building Inspector, were present. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr. Walker requested that two items be added to the Consent Calendar as follows: item 4s - Extension of Bid Date for New Fire Station. item 4t - School Crossing Guard Addition. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 8-14-84. b. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-421, approving the Baltastic United Soccer Ct~tb Parade permit application for parade on Sept~nber 8, 1984, subject to the fol- lowing conditions: (1) provide eleven civilian adults to report to the police department by 6:00 A.M., and assist in control of the route, and to remain at fitted posts until relieved by the officer in charge at the conclusion of the parade; and (2) make a timely notification to persons being affected b~ the parade route at least one week prior to the 8th; and amending the 1984-85 budget to include the police overtime expenses of $418.00. c. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-422, approving the Chamber of Commerce Heritage Days Parade permit application for parade on September 22, 1984; amending the 1984-85 budget to include the city's costs associated with the parade; the sponsor being required to comply with the parade conditions set forth in Section IV of Staff Report 84:459; and approving the parade route as recommended by staff. d. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-423, establishing stop signs for Kottinger Drive at its intersection with Concord Street. e. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-424, accepting public improvements for Tract 5037, Heather Hill - Romeo Development Company, and authorizing the City Attorney to file a Notice of Completion. f. Adoption of Resolution No. 84-425, accepting public improvements for Assessment District No. 1982-S, Fromm Business Park, and authorizing the City Attorney to file a Notice of Completion.
