203 <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Ms. Barbara Stear, President of the Friends of the Vineyards, presented a letter <br />to Council requesting them to join in with the Livermore Cit~, Council, Friends of the <br />Vineyards, and various wineries, to write to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors <br />to urge that the Wetmore Ranch adjacent to Ravenswood be leased or sold for vinevard <br />use only. It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, <br />that the Pleasanton City Council write a letter to the Alameda County Board of Super- <br />visors, urging that the Wetmore Ranch be leased or sold for vineyard use only. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Doug Gibbons, 2704 Laramie Gate Court, presented a petition signed by 76 <br />Pleasanton residents, which read as follows: <br /> <br /> "I/we, the undersigned Pleasanton resident(s), take the following position <br /> on the proposed "light railwav system" down the SP right-of-way that crosses <br /> Santa Rita and ends at Stanley Blvd. I/we want the City Council and Contra <br /> Costa planning committee to understand that we do not want the proposed "light <br /> rail" or any other public transportation system extended into Pleasanton beyond <br /> either Highway 580 or Hacienda Business Park. This position is also consistent <br /> with the joint resolution passed bv the Pleasanton and Livermore City Councils <br /> denying BART use of the same right-of-way." <br /> <br />Mr. Gibbons requested the City to inform him of any public hearings relative to this <br />matter so that he and other interested persons could attend and voice their position. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fran}c Belecky, 892 Madeira Drive, stated that construction along Vineyard <br />Avenue has had this street messed up for several months. He requested Council to re- <br />quire the developer to repair the street. Staff inform Mr. Beleckv that the street <br />where the construction is being done is in the County, therefore the City has no <br />jurisdiction over this matter, but they would inform the County of this problem to <br />see if they would do anything about it. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />PUD-84-13, Application of Castlewood Properties, Inc., to pre~one aAapproximate!y <br />8.8 acre site to ~UD (Planned Unit Development)-High Density Residential and "A" <br />(Agricultural) D'istricts and for pevel0pment Plan .approval for an 84 unit multi- <br />family residential complex and pKoposed City park on the site located on the east <br />side of Bernal Avenue between Tawny Drive and Vineyard Avenue <br /> <br />Consider Adoption of Negative Declaration <br />'(Contd. Open from 11-27-84 and 12-11-84') <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 84:626) dated November 27, 1984, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the continued public hearing open on the application and <br />the ne~lative declaration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Art Dunk!ey, representing Castlewood Properties, Inc., 205 Main Street, gave <br />a brief history of the project. He presented three exhibits showing the plan chanSes <br />since the conception of the proposed project. He advised he has met with representa-~ <br />tives of the Vintage Hills Homeowners Association to discuss and attempt to resolve <br />their concerns. He presented a plan for consideration by Council which consisted of <br />a 76 unit multifamily residential complex and a 3.9 acre park. He stated this re- <br />duces the original plan in units and allows for better configuration of the park.
