After discussion, Mayor Mercer instructed staff to place this matter as an <br />agenda item for the November 5, 1985 Council meeting, and asked that represen- <br />tatives of the Board of Directors for Valley Memorial Hospital be present to <br />report on the status of this issue. <br /> <br />Ordinance Repealing and Modifying Miscellaneous Obsolete Provisions of the <br />Pleasanton Municipal Code as Suggested by Impending Recodification <br /> Mr. MacDonald presented his report (SR 85:470) dated September 25, 1985, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that Ordinance No. 1222, to be read by title only and waiving further reading <br />thereof, an ordinance facilitating the recodification of the Ordinance Code of <br />the City of Pleasanton through the repeal and amendment of various obsolete <br />sections of said Code, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br />Ordinance Regulating Hours of Operation 6f Sprinkler Systems Along Major <br />Thoroughfares <br /> Mr. MacDonald presented his report (SR 85:472) dated September 25, 1985, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, that Ordinance No. 1223, to be read by title only and <br />waiving further reading thereof, an ordinance regulating hours of operation of <br />sprinkler systems along major streets, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Letter from City of Livermore Re: Branaugh Mining Permit <br /> Mayor Mercer presented a letter from Mayor Dale Turner of the City of <br />Livermore regarding this matter. No action was taken by Council relative to <br />this communication. Mayor Mercer stated he would write a letter to Mayor <br />Turner presenting Pleasanton's previous position in opposition to additional <br />quarries in the Valley. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Walker presented the City Council Calendar for the information of the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Applications for Senior Citizens Representative on Senior Housing Project <br />Building Committee <br /> Mr. Walker stated that eight applications have been received for consider- <br />ation on this Committee. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding whether or not to interview these can- <br />didates or appoint one from the list. Councilmember Mohr stated she preferred <br />to interview the candidates; other Councilmembers felt it appropriate to ap- <br />point a member from the list. <br /> <br /> <br />
