4O9

Community Facilities

Councilmember Brandes felt all the options had merit but that a
Civic Center Complex was extremely important. He also feels a
large gymnasium is greatly needed. Commissioner Lindsay agreed
with all of them. Councilmember Mohr supported the need for a
Senior Service Center. Mayor Mercer noted that we must consider
our 27,000 acres as we contemplate the eight options.

Open Space

Mr. Lee pointed out that the Residential Review Committee
recommended that all lands below 670 feet in elevation and 25% in
slope be redesignated to Rural Density Residential.

Commissioner Lindsay reminded us that we speak of the quality of
life and aesthetics as they pertain to Pleasanton. He feels that
we should do as little as possible to disturb the aesthetic
quality of the ridge. Everyone agreed.

The consensus was that Option 3 was the direction to go.
ADJOURNMENT

Mayor Mercer adjourned the meeting at 9:35 P.M. The next joint
study session will be held on October 14, 1985 at 7:30 P.M. in
the Council Chambers.

Respectfully submitted,

Chandler Lee
Consultant

J~B R. WALKER, CITY CLERK

- 6 -
