MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Butler advised that he and Councilmember Mohr have concluded <br />meetings with all developers regarding long term agreements, and will be <br />making a recommendation to Council in the near future. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood asked if the four-way stop signs at Payne and Single~ <br />tree have been reviewed by the Staff Traffic Committee. Mr. Okamura advised <br />it will be discussed at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood stated that the phone booth in front of Kaiser to han- <br />dle emergency calls has been removed but the sign is still there, and that <br />residents in the area are getting people at their doors requesting to use <br />their phones. He suggested a phone booth be installed on the right hand <br />shoulder of Sunol Boulevard. Staff was instructed to investigate this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated that Assemblyman Katz has been successful in <br />getting AB 2335 legislation requiring sand and gravel trucks to cover loads, <br />through the Assembly and it is now scheduled for hearing by the Senate <br />Transportation Committee in May. The League of California Cities has not <br />taken a position as yet on AB 2335, and the League Transportation and Public <br />Works Committee plan to review the legislation at a meeting on March 26th. <br />Assemblyman Katz has requested that Pleasanton contact the League Committee <br />and ask that they recommend support of this legislation. It was moved by <br />Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, authorizing that a <br />letter be transmitted to the League of California Cities Transportation and <br />Public Works Committee recommending that they support AB 2335 legislation <br />requiring sand and gravel trucks to cover loads. <br />The ~oll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated it was his understanding that when Holiday <br />Inns and Trammell Crow were approved that the Caltrans property would be land- <br />scaped by these projects, and he would like to know the status of the land- <br />scaping. Staff advised they will have a report on this matter at the next <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that with regard to the memorandum from the <br />Director of Planning and Community Development relative to the Tri-Valley <br />Citizens Committee, he felt that Larry Lindsey should be appointed to this <br />committee from the Planning Commission, as DeWitt Wilson's term on the Plan- <br />ning Commission will expire in May. It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Wood, that Resolution No. 86-106, appointing Larry <br />Lindsey on behalf of Pleasanton's Planning Commission as the City's represen- <br />tation on the Alameda County's General Plan Review Committee, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember But- <br />ler, that Resolution No. 86-107, appointing John Ferreri on behalf of Pleasan- <br />ton's Citizen at Large as the City's representation on the Alameda County's <br />General Plan Review Committee, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> 3-18-86 <br /> -4 <br /> <br /> <br />
