MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Wood thanked everyone for the cards and phone calls received <br /> during his recent illness. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer asked about the status of moving the PG&E poles on <br /> Foothill Road at the scene of a fatal accident recently. Mr. Elliott advised <br /> he is waiting on further action from PG&E, and will report back to Council as <br /> soon as he receives information. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Mohr stated that Council has been invited to participate in the <br />Oakland Coliseum 20th Anniversary at a cost of $2,000.00. Councilmember Mer- <br />cer advised that most Alameda County cities are participating, and that the <br />money will purchase tickets to sports events that can be distributed by the <br />cities. The actual celebration will be a dinner at a cost of $150.00 per per- <br />son. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by <br />Vice Mayor Mohr, that Resolution No. 86-400, approving an expenditure of <br />$2000.00 to participate in the Alameda County Oakland Coliseum 20th Anniver- <br />'sary, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Wood, and Vice Mayor Mohr <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Brandes <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Mohr stated she had expected that when Trammell Crow received <br />design review approval it would then come to Council for review but this was <br />not done. Mr. Swift advised that this business park was not included in the <br />process for design review approval by Council. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Mohr asked who is responsible for the landscaping between the <br />Zone 7 Administration Building and the Parkside Subdivision. Mr. Walker ad- <br />vised it is the City's responsibility. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> There were no City Council Committee Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. Bruce Fiedler, 251Kottinger Avenue, presented his letter dated August <br />19, 1986, thanking Council for their assistance and funds to clean and sani- <br />tize the apartments innundated by the flood six months ago. He stated that <br />the hydraulic studies approved by Council to resolve the flooding problem <br />should be completed. He urged prompt adoption of measures that will guarantee <br />a permanent and comprehensive solution before the rainy season begins. Mr. <br />Walker stated a report regarding this matter will be presented to Council at <br />the meeting of September 2, 1986, for consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Vineyard Avenue Substation and Alternative Transmission Line Routes <br />(Contd. Open from 5-20-86) <br /> Vice Mayor Mohr stated this item has been continued since the meeting of <br />May 20, 1986, to allow PG&E to make further study relative to transmission <br />line routes. She advised that the PUC is the body that makes the decision on <br />this matter, not the City Council, but that citizen input will help Council <br />make a recommendation to the PUC. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Mohr declared the continued public hearing open. <br /> <br /> 4 - 8-19-86 <br /> <br /> <br />
