455 <br /> Ms. Cindy McGovern, 9206 Foothill Road, stated she supports the ordinance, <br /> the school is needed now; the faster the ordinance is enacted the sooner the <br /> school district can accommodate the students. <br /> <br /> Ms. Sue Glanville, 3069 Chardonnay Drive', stated the schools are overcrow- <br /> ded now. It will take three years before a new school is built. She urged <br /> immediate approval of the ordinances. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding the ordinance establishing a school <br /> impact fee for residential construction. <br /> <br /> Council determined to delete the word "families" from Section 17.28.040(b) <br /> after senior citizen low and moderate income... <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Mayor Brandes, and seconded by <br /> Councilmember Mercer, that Ordinance No. 1267, to be read by title only and <br /> waiving further reading thereof, establishing a school impact fee for residen- <br /> tial construction, be introduced and adopted as an urgency measure. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Mohr, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding the ordinance establishing a school <br /> impact fee upon non-residential development. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmembr Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br />(2[) that this ordinance be continued until after Council has considered the North <br />~ Pleasanton Improvement District No. 2 Assessment District No. 1986-7. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Mohr, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes instructed the School District to meet with the commercial <br />-- developers before this matter is again considered by Council. <br /> <br /> Status of PreSchool Program <br /> Mrs. Bengtson presented her report (SR 86:304) dated July 15, 1986, <br /> regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that several people have volunteered materials <br /> and their services to assist in the renovation of the facility. He suggested <br /> that staff look into the possibility of other volunteer assistance. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br /> that Resolution No. 86-338, authorizing a budget amendment of up to $10,000.00 <br /> to meet existing preschool program needs by renovating the Val Vista building, <br /> be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Mohr, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br /> I0 - 7-15-86 <br /> <br /> <br />
