MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> December 1, 1987 <br /> <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> There was no Executive Session held at 7:30 p.m., this date. <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br /> order at 8:00 p.m., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as fol- <br /> lows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer were <br /> present. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. MacDonald, City Attorney, Mr. Swift, <br /> Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. Elliott, Director of <br /> Public Works and Utilities, and Ms. Bengtson, Director of Parks and Community <br /> Services, were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker stated that a request has been received from Lyon's Restaurant <br /> to have their public hearing continued to the meeting of January 19, 1988. <br /> Council concurred. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br /> that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 11-17-87. <br /> <br />b. Proclaim December 13-19, 1987 as Bill of Rights Week. <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1346, approval of RZ-87-8, application of the <br /> City of Pleasanton for an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to modify the <br /> definition of a "Bar" to include any establishment which serves alcoholic <br /> beverages to the public for on-site consumption after 10:00 p.m. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-518, supporting AB 2020, the California <br /> Health Insurance Plan. <br /> <br />e. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-519, approving the Joint Powers Agreement <br /> creating the Alameda County Waste Management Authority; and Adoption of <br /> Resolution No. 87-520 amending the Alameda County Solid Waste Management <br /> Authority Joint Powers Agreement, dissolving the existing authority and <br /> transferring all assets to the new Alameda County Waste Management <br /> Authority. <br /> <br /> f. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-521, extending the Aquatic season six weeks, <br /> opening February 1, 1988, conditional upon the Seahawks entering into an <br /> Agreement with the City to pay $4,000 for the estimated $8,000 operational <br /> costs for the six weeks period, and that an additional $8,000 be allocated <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
