Mr. Swift advised that staff has concerns because of the way the an- <br />CZ) tenna is located on the site; he anticipates working out details with the con- <br />(21C) tractor and Holiday Inns within the next ten days. If the antenna and wall <br />(v-} are not installed the way Council approved the plans then he will have them <br /> removed immediately. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember But- <br /> ler, that Holiday Inns be notified that if there is not a plan for construc- <br /> tion of the screen wall for the dish antenna submitted and approved by the <br /> Planning Department by April 1, 1988, with construction to be completed by May <br /> 1, 1988, then the antenna will have to be removed. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmember Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: Councilmember Wilson <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wilson stated he could not support the motion; he felt the <br /> matter should be handled by staff. No action was required or taken by Council on the item. <br /> <br /> Councilmembers stated that they noticed vehicles parked in front and on <br /> the lot as recently as last Sunday; they requested staff to closely monitor <br /> this situation. <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> item 6a <br /> Livermore Airport Report <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 88:109) dated March 15, 1988, regard- <br /> ing this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Stewart McGehee, Chairperson of the Committee from Pleasanton Meadows <br /> who brought this matter to the attention of the City, stated the staff report <br /> is comprehensive and accurate. He stated this group has dealt with the Liver- <br /> more Airport Commission and Mayor as well as the FAA with no significant <br /> changes to the conditions they are experienceing in North Pleasanton. He ad- <br /> vised the only agruments from Livermore regarding resolution of the problem is <br /> the liability issue and an attitude that they were there first. He stated <br /> they were there first but not in the capacity they are now and will be in the <br /> future. The proposed extension of the runways will easily accommodate commer- <br /> cial jets such as PSA. This concerns him even though he has been told by <br /> Livermore that this is not their intent. Mr. McGehee stated the expansion has <br /> already cost the City of Pleasanton a school that had been proposed for this <br /> area; this airport from another city is drastically affecting this city. The <br /> traffic patterns in their Environmental Impact Report are not being enforced <br /> and are creating an adverse impact on the Pleasanton Meadows area.
