MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> February 16, 1988 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br />order at 8:00 p.m., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as fol- <br />lows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer were <br />present. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. MacDonald, City Attorney, Mr. Swift, <br />Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. Elliott, Director of <br />Public Works and Utilities, and Ms. Bengtson, Director of Parks and Community <br />Services, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> There were no agenda amendments presented at this meeting. Mr. Walker <br />advised there would be an Executive Session held at the conclusion of this <br />meeting to discuss labor relations. <br /> <br /> PRESENTATION TO CAPTAIN LARRY TODD <br /> Mayor Mercer presented a plaque on behalf of the City to Captain Larry <br />Todd of the Police Department, who has resigned to accept the position of <br />Police Chief for the City of Los Gatos. Captain Todd thanked the Council for <br />this honor and expressed appreciation to the community for his 2-1/2 years of <br />service with the City. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for February 2, 1988. <br /> <br />b. Proclaim April 18-24, 1988 as Cancer Awareness Week. <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1353, approval of RZ-87-12, application of Renee <br /> Spiliotopoulos to rezone an approximately 0.43 acre site from the R-1-6500 <br /> (Single-family Residential) District to the C-C (Central Commercial) Dis- <br /> trict located at 824/830 Main Street and 357 Ray Street. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1355, approval of RZ-87-13, application of the <br /> City of Pleasanton to prezone an approximately 63 acre site from the "A" <br /> (Agricultural) District to the PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Low Density <br /> Residential/Rural Density Residential/Public Health and Safety District <br /> located on the south side of Old Dublin Canyon Road. <br /> <br />e. Adoption of Resolution No. 88-65, denying the late claim of R. M. Harris <br /> Company, who contracted with Oliver DeSilva, Inc., to pile drive and in <br /> the process of pile-driving on August 10, 1987, a sewer line was damaged; <br /> and referring this matter to the City Attorney for further handling. <br /> <br /> - 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
