409 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> DECEMBER 6, 1988 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the <br /> City Council to order at 7:30 p.m., and then led the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is <br /> recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and <br /> Mayor Mercer. Councilmember Brandes was absent. Mr. Walker, City <br /> Manager, Mr. Roush, City Attorney, Mr. Swift, Director of Planning <br /> and Community Development, and Mr. Elliott, Director of Public <br /> Works and Utilities, Mr. Bocian, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Lee, <br /> Principal Planner, and Ms. Bengtson, Director of Parks and <br /> Community services, were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker stated that a letter from Stanley Partners had <br /> been hand delivered December 5, 1988, requesting that items 9a, <br /> 9b, and 9c be continued to the meeting of December 20, 1988. <br /> Council agreed to the request. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested that item 4o - Approval of Assignment <br /> of Use of the Old Library Building to the Department of Parks and <br /> Community Services for Use As a Preschool Facility, be removed <br /> from the Consent Calendar and moved to item 12c on the agenda, to <br /> allow for discussion. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by <br /> Councilmember Mohr, that the following items listed on the Consent <br /> Calendar, as amended, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 11-15-88 and 11-19-88. <br /> <br />b. Proclaim December 7, 1988 as Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. <br /> <br /> c. Commendation to the Housing Authority of the County of <br /> Alameda for twenty years of exemplary service in the area of <br /> public housing. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 88-549, approving an agreement <br /> with John Carollo Engineers for engineering services to <br /> complete Phase 1, joint use feasibility study and <br /> transmission main; authorizing the City Manager to execute <br /> the agreement; and allocating $15,500 from the North <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
