247 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 18, 1988 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:30 p.m., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer were present. Councilmember Mohr was absent. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. Roush, City Attorney, Mr. Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. Elliott, Director of Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Bocian, Assistant City Manager, and Ms. Bengtson, Director of Parks and Community Services, were present. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr. Walker advised there would be a closed session held at the conclusion of this meeting. After the closed session, Council will need to reconvene as City Council and then adjourn to a meeting of the Community Development Agency. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 10-4-88. b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1386, approving PUD-83-12-5M, application of bas Homes for a major modification to an approved development plan for an existing residential project to allow six foot fences to be constructed within seven feet of the property line on the street side of corner lots located at Lots 7, 11, 14, 15, and 19 of Tract 5445 on Martin Avenue. c. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1387, repealing Ordinance Nos. 554 and 953 (Chapter 6.12 PMC) providing for the regulation of cardrooms. d. Adoption of Resolution No. 88-483, authorizing the hiring of one full-time custodian for the purpose of providing custodial services for the Pleasanton Library; and authorizing a General Fund Budget allocation of $17,837.00 to cover the compensation for the custodian. - 1 -
