Staff <br /> advised it had not received any protests. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes asked if this is a standard ordinance <br />and has it been enacted in other cities. Mr. Roush advised that <br />it was adopted by Council in the 1979 Building Code; in 1982 it <br />was not included nor was it picked up in the 1985 Code, but is <br />being included at this time. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, that Ordinance No. 1414 be introduced, <br />to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1385 and Section 20.08.050 of <br />the Pleasanton Municipal Code concerning automatic fire <br />extinguishing systems. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />item 12c <br />Approval of Plans and Specifications and Authorization to Call for <br />Bids for the Foothill Road Soundwall <br /> Mr. Elliott presented his report (SR 89:170) dated April 4, <br />1989, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Sharrell Michelotti, 7873 Olive Court, presented a <br />petition from 35 residents representing 18 families in the Oakhill <br />subdivision. They are concerned about the loss of view and <br />appropriateness of an 8 ft. soundwall at the end of Olive and <br />Marigold Courts, and about the design of the wall along Foothill <br />Road. She stated this is a view issue and these residents were <br />not public noticed because they are not on Foothill Road. She <br />advised she appeared before Council on June 7, 1988, and asked if <br />there would be a review of the soundwall; she was told there would <br />be a further hearing. She stated an 8 ft. soundwall at the top of <br />grade on Foothill will take away the view and daylight of those <br /> <br /> - 20 - 4/04/8 s <br /> <br /> <br />
