377 <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer advised that eleven people have applied to be on <br />this committee. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she would like the Councilmembers <br />to be able to sit in on interviews for these candidates. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated it is the duty of the elected <br />Mayor to make the appointments; he felt it out of order for <br />Councilmembers to participate in the interview process. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes concurred. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated it is agreeable to him for Councilmembers <br />to sit in on the interviews. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Butler, that Ordinance No. 1410 be introduced, to be read by title <br />only and waiving further reading thereof, creating a Design Review <br />Committee consisting of three professional persons to review <br />architectural plans that come to the City, with decisions <br />appealable by the Planning Commission and City Council. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmember Brandes, Butler, Tarver, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmember Mohr <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />item 12d <br />Ruby Hills Genera] Plan Amendment fAlameda County Referral) <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 89:141) dated March 21, <br />1989, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Council instructed staff to transmit to the County an earlier <br />resolution adopted by Council setting forth the position of the <br />Council with regard to the Ruby Hills area. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />COMMUNCATIONS <br />item 14a <br />Recommendation from Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Mayor Mercer stated this item has been continued to the <br />meeting of April 4, 1989. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Walker presented the City Council Calendar for the <br />information of the Council. <br /> <br /> - 25 - 3-21-89 <br /> <br /> <br />
