187 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> APRIL 17, 1990 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the <br />City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> Recording Secretary Terry Birkenfeld called the roll which is <br />recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, <br />Tarver, and Mayor Mercer. Staff members present were: Ms. <br />Acosta, City Manager; Mr. Roush, City Attorney; Mr. Swift, <br />Director of Planning and Community Development; Mr. Elliott, <br />Director of Public Works and Utilities; Ms. Bengtson, Director of <br />Parks and Community Services; Mr. Withers, Acting Fire Chief; and <br />Mr. van Gelder, Traffic Engineer. <br /> <br />3. AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta requested that Item 41 - Award of Contractor Bid <br />for Nuisance Abatement 1990 be removed from the Consent Calendar <br />and be considered together with Item 6a - Public Hearing: Weed <br />Abatement Proqram 1990. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta then informed the Councilmembers that staff <br />received a letter from Mr. Steven P. Thomas requesting the <br />continuation of Item 6b - PUD-80-15-5D-1M, Application of the City <br />of Pleasanton for a Ma~or Modification to an Approved Planned Unit <br />Development ("Measure X"; PUD-80-15-5D) to Clarify the Status of <br />"Fast Food" Restaurants as a Prohibited Use in Pleasant Village <br />Center, a Retail Commercial Development Located at the Southeast <br />Corner of Santa Rita Road and Pimlico Drive. She added that the <br />Closed Session to discuss Labor Relations would be continued after <br />the Regular Meeting. <br /> <br />4. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br /> Mr. Brandes requested that the City Council Minutes for <br />4/3/90 be amended to reflect a comment made by Mr. Mercer during <br />the discussion on Department of Energy's Proposal for Restricted <br />Airspace, under Item 8 - MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS, that <br />the Livermore Airport should be closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Ms.Mohr, that <br />the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended, be <br />approved: <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> 4-17-90 <br /> <br /> <br />
