112

r. Adoption of Resolution No.-90-66, approving the
participation in the Household Hazardous Waste
Collection Program scheduled for the Tri-Valley area on
May 5, 1990. (SR 90:125)

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: Mayor Mercer on Item 4p
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Mr. Mick Lamb, a land surveyor in Pleasanton representing the
owners of the Vassallo/Cerutti property, inquired what the status
of the development in the area on Foothill Road is.

Mr. Mercer explained that there will be a joint City Council
and Planning Commission meeting on April 2, 1990 to look at
Foothill Road, the 11,500 acre annexation of the Pleasanton
Ridgelands, and the de-annexation of the City of Hayward
Ridgelands property. The newspaper report that the Presley Homes
and A-M Homes projects were approved is not accurate. These two
projects have not been approved; in fact they have not come to
Council yet. The developers will wait until the Foothill Road
study is completed, and Council will then look at the projects and
growth management approval in relation to the recommendations of
the study. He stated that the Vassallo/Cerutti property would
probably not be impacted by the study process as far as growth
management is concerned.

Mr. Brandes concurred with Mr. Mercer's statements and
commented that the Vassallo/Cerutti property should not have been
included in the delay. Mr. Mercer agreed with Mr. Brandes.

Mr. Butler stated that individual pieces of property along
Foothill Road should be included in the study unless Council sees
a reason not to. He suggested that boundaries be set for the
study area.

Council indicated that the Vassallo/Cerutti property would
not be affected by the study and could proceed as scheduled.

Ms. Acosta inquired if Council would like staff to come up
with a report defining the boundaries of the Foothill Road study
area, as suggested by Mr. Butler.

Mr. Mercer said yes.

- 4 -
3-20-90
