Sinqle-Family Residence Located at
9900 Lon~view Lane ~Upper Lon~view)

Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 90:17) regarding the
matter.

Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the
application.

Ms. Charu Dave, a resident of Fremont Hills, stated that she
would like to have her family live in Pleasanton and requested
Council to approve her application. She introduced her lawyer,
Mr. Geoffrey Etnire, to speak on the development in her behalf.

Mr. Geoffrey Etnire, 6140 Stoneridge Mall Road, representing
Manoj and Charu Dave, stated that the applicants have gone through
great lengths to accommodate the concerns of the Design Review
Board (DRB). After three work sessions, the DRB concluded that
the house met all the technical criteria for hillside development
and that its design was acceptable. It added that the house would
not be any more visible from the valley than a 5,000 sq. ft. house
would be and that it would in fact be less intrusive than many
existing houses which do not blend into the hillside. The trees,
which would be 25-30 feet tall when they reach maturity in three
to five years, will shield the house, as indicated in the plans.
He requested Council not to reverse the DRB decision. He then
offered to answer questions on the development.

Mr. Brandes inquired from where the photographs were taken.

Mr. Swift replied that they were taken from the 1-680 side,
directly perpendicular to the walls of the house.

-4-
1-16-90
