351

With respect to Item 4f - Approval to Sell Spectator Tickets
for Two Softball Events Scheduled at the Softball Complex,
Northwestern Athletics Association for the Deaf and the Pleasanton
Police Officers' Association, Mr. Mercer commented that he felt
that it would be not be appropriate to require Pleasanton residents
to buy tickets to an event sponsored by an out-of-town group in a
park which was paid for by the residents. He inquired if the group
will actually be selling tickets or taking donations.

Ms. Bengtson replied that the two non-profit groups holding
the events have made a package-deal arrangement to charge their own
constituents attending the event so they can send their winning
teams on to the next level. She explained that Pleasanton
residents are free to attend those events and would not be charged.

Mr. Mercer indicated that he would prefer to have donations
taken rather than tickets sold.

Ms. Bengtson stated that she was sure the agencies would be
happy to make that change.

Ms. Kathleen MacDonald, 5258 Crestline Way, requested that
Item 4o - Award of Contract for Legal Services for Senior Center
Financing Program, Item 6c - Approval of Plans and Specifications
and Authorization to Call for Bids for the Senior Center and
Related Improvements to be Located on a 17-Acre Site on the West
Side of Sunol Boulevard Opposite Mission Drive and Item 12c -
Approval of the Financing Plan for the Senior Center and Deferment
of City Participation in the Harvest Park Gymnasium be combined on
the Agenda and considered together as Item 6c.

Mr. Mercer said yes.

With respect to Item 4dd - Report on Water Conservation
Progress, Mr. Robert Cordtz, 262 West Angela Street, inquired how
much water the Alameda County Fairgrounds and the San Francisco
system connections would add to the City's water system and what
the treatment and quality of that water would be.

Mr. Elliott replied that City would get about 1.5 million
gallons per day from both connections. He stated that the City's
technicians tested the water and found it to be excellent. He
added that the water would be mingled with the City's water, which
would then go through the chlorination process.

It was moved by Ms. Mohr, seconded by Ms. Scribner, that the
following actions be taken on the Consent Calendar:

a.
