MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Water Situation/Street Alignment Mr. Stanley Rathbone, 325 Ray Street, stated that Del Valle should also be annexed and that Ruby Hill should be annexed to Livermore, rather than to Pleasanton. He expressed concern about the indiscriminate use of water with the construction of the Jack Nicklaus Golf Course and added that residents should not be subject to water rationing for the sake of a golf course. He urged the Council not to approve more housing so that water would not have to be rationed in the years ahead. He then stated that St. John Street and Ray Streets should be realigned because 75% of the traffic that comes out of St. John Street does not turn at Ray Street, but goes out to Santa Rita Road. He stated that it was inconvenient to come up St. John Street to get to Ray Street. · 6. PUBLIC HEARINGS Item 6a PUD-S9-6-3M, Spieker Partners, Application for a Ma~or Modification to the ApDroved Planned Unit Development for Rose PaviliOn (Phase III), Located on the Northwest Comer of the Intersection of Santa Rita Road and Rosewood Drive, to Permit Banners, Pennants, and Non-Reflective Decorations in Conjunction with Grand Openinqs and Special Events (SR 91:260) Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application. Mr. Stanley Rathbone, 325 Ray Street, stated that he understands that the applicant is requesting that banners, balloons, and pennants be permitted for advertising purposes. He suggested that it would be more feasible to allow advertising signage within one-half mile of Pleasanton along the 1-580 corridor so that motorists would be aware of what is available. There being no further testimony, Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing closed. - 3 - 7-2-91
