175 Mr. Gary Purnell, 2472 Via de los Milagros, suggested that Council look into the lot size reduction issue at this time because the Board of Supervisors may decide to vote on the issue at its meeting the coming week, and Council would not have had the opportunity to present its input then. It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, that a letter be sent to the Alameda Board of Supervisors indicating the Council's views that urban development be allowed only within city spheres-of-influence and be serviced by existing cities according to city General Plan policies and that the consideration of the issue regarding lot size reduction from 100 acres to 40 acres be continued to a later date. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: Councilmember Butler ABSTAIN: None Item 12d Item 4ee - Membership to the Local Government CommiSsiOn (SR 91:182) Mr. Tarver stated that he was interested in joining the Local Government Commission because it offers conferences and opportunities which would provide the City with more information and resources to address City problems. Mr. Mercer inquired if the Commission is part of the League of California Cities. Ms. Acosta replied that the Commission is not a part of the League but came about as a result of the interest of some League member Cities. She added that she had worked with the Commission in the past and that the group provides good information and follows issues intently. It was moved by Mr. Tarver, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, to approve an agency membership in the Local Government Commission and to allocated $500 from the City's General Fund to cover the membership fees, as set forth in the Staff Report.
