He added that Council could accept and
keep the applications until a decision was made.

Ms. Mohr proposed that interview of applications could be held
after Council decides on the number of Board members.

Ms. Acosta commented that Council could make the appointment
of two members at this time to fill the positions and keep the rest
of the applications in the event that Council decides to increase
the number of Board members.

Issues Reqardinq Usinq NPID Funds for BART

Mr. Tarver requested Staff to prepare a report on what
potential issues may be involved if North Pleasanton Improvement
District funds were used for BART.

City of Pleasanton Song

Mr. Mercer stated that about three years ago, a Pleasanton
School District employee wrote a song entitled "Pleasanton is Our
Community." Some Pleasanton school teachers then requested that
the song be declared Pleasanton's official City song; however, the
Council at that time thought it would be more appropriate to have
a contest before naming it the City song. In the meantime, the
song has been informally accepted by the Pleasanton School District
as the City's song and is sung at various school programs. He
indicated that once again, he has received a request from
Pleasanton teachers to declare the song the official City song in
Pleasanton.

- 12 -
5-7-91
