56 <br /> <br /> With respect to Item 4k, Mr. Cortz asked staff why the City <br /> was going through a large expense of drilling a new well. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cusenza stated that the need for the well was based on <br /> what happened last summer. Last summer, there was a combined <br /> effort of the City, Cal Water and Zone 7 to pump out the ground <br /> water basin. This year staff was not sure if adequate water would <br /> be supplied from the state. He stated that DSRSD and the City felt <br /> that the well was needed to meet peak demands during the summer. <br /> Last summer the City, Cal Water, and Zone 7 were running all wells, <br /> which wasn't the best way to operate a system. The City has no <br /> spare capacity and the new well will give the capacity that is <br /> needed. He added that one of the other existing wells could go on <br /> a stand-by and the new well would take over if needed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Mr. Tarver, that the <br /> following actions be taken on the Consent Calendar, as amended: <br /> <br /> a. Approve the City Council Minutes for 1/21/92. <br /> <br /> b. Accept the report on the voluntary Water Conservation <br /> Program for the month of January 1992. (IR92:12) <br /> <br /> c. Approve Amendment No. 2 to the contract with CH2M Hill <br /> for the two-lane access road (Dublin Boulevard) at the <br /> Hacienda Drive/I-580 interchange; authorize the City <br /> Manager to execute Amendment No. 2 for the final design; <br /> and authorize the expenditure of $350,000 from the North <br /> Pleasanton Improvement District No. 3 to cover the costs <br /> of Amendment No. 2. Approve the monthly disbursements and Investment Report <br /> for the month of December 1991 and the claims for the <br /> month of December 1991 in the amount of $5,834,782.38. <br /> (SR92:56) <br /> <br /> e. Introduce Ordinance No. 1546, to be read by title only <br /> and waiving further reading thereof, amending Chapter <br /> 11.20, Speed Limits, of the Pleasanton Municipal Code. <br /> (SR92:52) <br /> <br /> f.
