227

MINUTES
OF
THE
MEETING
OF
THE CITY COUNCIL

December 15, 1992

1. CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Ben C. Tarver called the Regular Meeting of the City
Council to order at 7:30 p.m.

2, ROLL CALL

City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded
as follows: Councilmembers Karin Mohr, Thomas P. Pico Jr., Dorothy
N. Scribner and Mayor Ben C. Tarver. Staff members present were:
Deborah Acosta, City Manager; Michael H. Roush, City Attorney;
Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development;
Joseph Elliott, Director of Public Works and Utilities; Steve
Cusenza, Deputy Director of Utilities; and Bill van Gelder, Traffic
Engineer.

3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS

Ms. Acosta indicated that there had been a request to continue
item 13a, Consideration of Mobile Home Park Rent Stabilization
Ordinance.

Mr. Roush explained that on Friday afternoon he had received
a request from the representative for the owner of the Pleasanton
Mobile Home Park to continue this item because the owner was
willing to enter into an agreement with the City with respect to
the stabilization of mobile home spaces within that park, subject
to certain conditions. Many of the conditions had been discussed
between the Pleasanton Mobile Home Committee and the park tenants
and owner, but there had been no consensus reached. Mr. Roush had
further conversations with the park owner's representative in which
he indicated that the City would need to receive some written
assurance from the park owner that he would not provide a notice of
increased rents to those park tenants until the matter could be
considered by Council. Mr. Roush received that written assurance
on Friday. He suggested that the Committee meet again with the
owner and the tenants to reach terms that were acceptable to all
the parties. Since this is not likely to occur until later this
week he is requesting that this be to continued to the January 5,
1993 City Council meeting.
