City of Berkeley, <br /> et. al. <br /> <br /> m. Approve the Traffic Committee minutes'of the September 3, <br /> 1992 meeting. (IR92:67) <br /> <br /> n. Proclaim the week of September 22 through September 26 as <br /> "The Week of Caring." <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Tarver <br />ABSTAIN: Councilmember Mohr, Item 4h <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver arrived at 6:13 p.m. <br /> <br />5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Jan Batcheller, 644 St. Mary Street, reported that the <br />Centennial Committee had been planning for the Centennial Picnic, <br />which is scheduled for June 18, 1994. Several sponsorship chairmen <br />have already been chosen. The Committee is hoping that a Joint Use <br />Agreement between the City of Pleasanton and Zone 7 will be signed <br />by June 18, 1994 so that by then all of the Arroyos could be opened <br />for pedestrian and bicycle traffic. The Committee was also <br />planning to have a 5 and 10 kilometer run on these trails. The <br />Committee was waiting for final approval for a selection of an <br />artist who will create a unique art piece to commemorate this <br />Centennial project. Many of the cultural groups were planning a <br />special centennial event to be performed during that year. Ms. <br />Batcheller presented Centennial T-shirts to each member of the <br />Council. She indicated she had spoken with the Long Beach <br />Centennial Chairman who is a full time, paid person. She stated <br />that Brad Hirst, Chairman of the Centennial Committee, has <br />dedicated many long hours to this project and has committed himself <br />to a very big job. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer thanked Ms. Batcheller for all of her hard work <br />and dedication to this project. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta indicated that the City of Pleasanton received the <br />1992 Governor's Award under the Keep California Moving Program. <br />This was the Grand Prize award for the State of California. <br /> <br />9/15/92 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
