8

favor of the project as presented. He asked that Council support
the Planning Commission's recommendation and approve the tentative
map.

Mr. Pico did not understand how putting sidewalks around the
remaining lots would impact the size of the lots facing Martin
Avenue.

Mr. Hirst stated that if there were sidewalks placed in front
of Lots 26, 27, and 28, it would reduce the lots. The applicant is
making a sincere effort to keep the lots next to the Lauer property
as large as possible. He believed that the sidewalks could be
placed on both sides of the street, but it would reduce the lots
and the estate lot atmosphere.

Mayor Tarver was concerned with the infrastructure being
complete by a certain time. He asked Mr. Hirst how he felt about
bonding to insure completion within a specific time. He then asked
Mr. Hirst to respond to a condition that would link Growth
Management Allocation at the Final Map stage.

Mr. Hirst pointed out that financing is the major influence
as to when they can begin construction. The intention was to
commence improvement the latter part of 1993. Bonding this project
would only create a financial incumbrance. He did not object to
extending the growth management approvals.

Frank Falore, 475 St. John Street, formerly 3710 Trenery
Drive, indicated that he was amazed when Council suggested
conditioning the project to have sidewalks on both sides. He
explained that the neighborhood, staff, Planning Commission, and
Council all agreed that the area should remain rural and fought
very hard for that. He objected to having a 36 foot street on
Trenery Drive. He asked that Council approve this project as
presented.

Eugene Lauer, 2221 Martin Avenue, supported this project as
approved by the Planning Commission and agreed with all conditions.
He asked that the "country-lane" character be allowed to be
retained. He referred to the Walnut shade trees and asked those
remain as well. Mr. Lauer believed that the City Council should
resist expansion of the Livermore Airport Protection Zone and
protect the citizens of Pleasanton from the airport noise.

Donna McMillion, 3785 Trenery Drive, also representing Dixie
Kamp, 3785 Trenery Drive and Chris Montgomery, 3700 Trenery Drive,
supported the project as presented. She was interested in keeping
Trenery Drive a very rural street.

Bob Cooper, 3711 Trenery Drive, spoke in favor of the project.
He objected to widening the street to approximately 40 feet. Mr.
Cooper asked Council to approve the project as presented.

1/5/93 8
