CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta reminded Council that there will be a Special Joint City Council/School <br /> Board meeting on July 13, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver pointed out that the July 21, 1993 LAVWMA meeting was moved to <br /> July 28, 1993. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver also noted that the Mayor' s Conference is July 7, 1993 at the Fairgrounds. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta explained the activities that are held at the Mayor's Conference. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico indicated that the July CMA meeting was canceled and a special meeting will <br /> be held July 29, 1993 if necessary. <br /> <br /> 10. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNC!LIvIF~MBERS <br /> <br />Item 10a <br />Desi_tn Review Process llternative~ (SR93:280) <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> In response to Mr. Pico questions, Mr. Swift reiterated process that would be used for <br />Hacienda Business Park project (outside consultant). <br /> <br /> There was considerable discussion on the professional independent consultants, conflict <br />of interests, and local and out of town consultants services. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta confirmed that any local architect could be used for consultant services if <br />he/she agreed not to do business in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr felt that the description regarding local architects needed to be clarified. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift explained that staff was hoping that two or three individuals be retained by the <br />City for design consultation. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr to direct staff to prepare a draft ordinance for review by the <br />Planning Commission and City Council which would modify the design review process to <br />include informal review by design professionals acting as consultants to staff; and to contact non- <br />local architects and landscape architects to be retained by the City for design consultation for <br />sensitive or controversial projects and to contact architects/landscape architects who would agree <br />to volunteer their design review services for less complex projects. <br /> <br />07/06/93 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
