Mayor Tarver suggested amending Option No. 3 to read, "Shall the ordinance that prezoned 46 acres on Foothill Road to low-density residential, consistent with the General Plan, and that conditionally approves a development plan for 89 single family homes on the site, be adopted?" Ms. Michelotti suggested, "Shall Ordinance 1769, which prezones the Merritt property 46 acres on Foothill Road, to low-density residential, consistent with the General Plan, and that conditionally approves a development plan for 89 single family homes, be adopted." Mayor Tarver clarified the language. Ms. Ayala found the wording cumbersome. Ms. Acosta said she has heard different things. Ms. Michelotti asked about the word "in-fill." Ms. Dennis said those words could be added to read, "and conditionally approve an in-fill development plan for 89 single family homes, be adopted." Ms. Ayala suggested having staff write up the language and bring back later in tonight's meeting. This item was temporarily continued. Item 4b Pleasanton Public Planning Initiative. (SR99:65) Mr. Roush presented the staff report. Mr. Pico asked if the next regularly scheduled election was March 6, 2000. Mr. Roush said the next municipal election would be in November 2000. An election will be held before November 2000. Mr. Pico asked how the wording would have to read in order for this to be placed on the ballot for November 1999 or March 2000. Mr. Roush said the petition would have to be amended to include the wording requesting a special election.
