Ms. Dennis said the region has certain needs and asked if there is a system to
ensure that everyone is communicating.

Mr. Donasary said PG&E attends Council meetings and keeps track of all the new
development going on in the area.

Mr. McGee said PG&E is obligated to serve the public. Therefore, PG&E needs
to anticipate future demands.

Ms. Michelotti wanted to ensure PG&E was addressing the problem long term
rather than playing catch up.

Mr. McGee said the alternatives are a regional long-term plan that will be
completed by the year 2002.

Ms. Roberts also had concems with the 230kv lines being above ground on
Vineyard.

Other Speakers

Kathy Narum, Pleasanton Seahawks President, announced that the Seahawks will

__h be hosting the 2000 Far Westem Swim Meet next March at the Aquatic Center.

James Vice, 961 Gray Fox Circle, described the wood working classes he teaches
at the Senior Center on Wednesdays and invited people to join.

Ms. Ayala thanked him for his volunteerism.

Donna Cabanne, Livermore, urged everyone to attend an important County
hearing scheduled for July 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Carr America Center, 4400 Rosewood,
Pleasanton, to address the costly cleanup of the lead contaminated soil at the Altamont
landfill. She said the contaminants were dumped illegally. She talked about the health
concems and that Waste Management has refused to pay to clean up the soil. Waste
Management has said the Alameda residents will have to pay the $1 million clean up
cost. She felt this was unfair. She said the giant companies and state agencies need to be
told that the Alameda residents are not going to pay for the clean up. She said residents
can also voice their concerns by calling Supervisor Haggerty at (510) 272-6691 or e-mail
her at dcabanne@justicemail.com.

Ms. Ayala thanked Ms. Cabanne for making the City aware of the situation. She
said Supervisor Haggerty and Supervisor King are on top of the situation. She
encouraged the residents to attend the meeting.

Mayor Tarver suggested writing a letter to the County stating the City Council
supports that appropriate cleanup be handled by those responsible.

Pleasanton City Council 9 07\06\99
Minutes
