13. LEGISLATIVE UPDATE REPORTS <br /> <br />Item 13a <br />Status Report (SR 94:251) <br /> <br /> Steven Bocian presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Council discussed how the city currently deals with false alarms, whether directly <br />connected to the police department or not. Ms. Acosta explained that the proposed legislation <br />would take away the city's authority to do what it is doing now. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, seconded by Ms. Scribner, to approve the staff <br />recommendation to oppose AB 2876 which limits city authority to charge fees and to regulate <br />alarm system operations. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Mohr, Pico, Scribner, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Dennis <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico inquired about the status of the Cortese bill concerning wastewater. Mr. Roush <br />indicated the bill did not pass. The Klehs bill is still continuing to move through the system. <br /> <br />14, CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> <br />15. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> Council adjourned to closed session at 9:40 p.m. to discuss pending litigation: Boyden <br />v. Silagy, Borough v. Harvey, and CiBr Of Dublin v. City_ of Pleasanton.
