Ms. Mohr stated that on familiar streets people often don't think about where they are
or pay attention to their speed. She suggested a speed board be located on that street for a few
days.

Ms. Acosta suggested the Police Department see what can be done. It may decide to put
someone out there for a few days depending on what is seen.

Mayor Tarver suggested Mr. Carlucci present the problem to the Traffic Committee.
If Mr. Carlucci is not satisfied, he can come back before Council.

Ms. Michelotti asked if it can be assumed that the request has been made now, or does
he have to make a formal request.

Ms. Acosta stated she will get Mr. Carlucci's name and address and give it to
Mr. Van Geltier.

Mr. Pico stated that the Traffic Committee takes the concerns of the neighborhood and
tries to resolve the problems.

Ms. Acosta stated the group tries to work out the problems right there. Council encourages the Chamber
of Commerce to go to LAVWMA as a group and make a presentation in terms of what
LAVWMA might do.

Frank Berlogar, 2200 Vineyard Avenue, stated that the capacity that is to be bought for
$200 million could have been purchased for $5 million if the existing pipeline had been over-
sized when it was initially built. He felt the City needs to maximize the capacity that it gets for
the money that will be spent.
