Mayor Tarver asked about the six parking spaces for each home. Mr. Iserson clarified that each unit would have a three car garage and there would be three spaces in the driveway. No parking is allowed on the street. Mayor Tarvet declared the public hearing open. Tom Merschel, New Cities Development Group, supported the staffs report as presented to the Harming Commission. He stated that these units will be undistinguishable from those without the option. A unit with a secondary unit will look from the street the same as one without the secondary unit. The only changes will be an additional door and a required address for the secondary unit. The units offering the option are on the 36 interior lots and will not impact traffic on Trenery. There being no further testimony, the public hearing was closed. Mayor Tarver stated that there was no one to speak for the appeal and he felt it made sense to modify the plans. It was moved by Ms. Michelotti, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, to adopt Resolution No. 95-91, denying the appeal of Planning Commission to approve a master conditional use permit allowing a secondary dwelling unit option in conjunction with 36 single-family houses - on a previously approved subdivision (Walnut Glen Estates, Tract 6596).
