to the Steering Committee and all three individuals argued and voted against the subcommittee's
recommendation.

Ms. Michelotti stated she will work to try and get some kind of reconsideration if that
is possible on this issue. She felt disappointed that this was not being reconsidered and felt that
it was a bad decision to open Mirador with restrictions.

Purchase of Ridt, elands

Jack Hovingh, 4250 Muirwood Drive, stated that at a previous meeting a representative
from the East Bay Regional Park approached the Council to be part of a joint funding
partnership for future acquisitions in the Pleasanton Ridgelands. He felt that the parks we now
have are in need of repair and there are needs for other parks, like in the Hacienda Business
Park and other places where the funding could be used. He stated the East Bay Regional Park
District is land rich and can't afford to service the land it has within its operating budget. Mr.
Hovingh stated that if the City of Pleasanton puts money into the Park District to buy more land,
it will exacerbate its already troublesome financial position. He encouraged the Council to look
at this issue carefully and take care of the parks we already have.

Ms. Acosta stated that the Council has only been requested to look at adding to the CIP
the purchase of property in the Ridgelands but the Council's direction was to return that to the
Parks Commission and the Planning Commission to get advice before a decision is made.

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATI'ERS

Item 4r
Desi~,n of the Pleasanton Tennis and Community Park Administration Building. (SR95:232)

Ms. Dolores Bengtson presented the staff report.

Ed Hsu, an architect, stated the building is 2600 square feet but with the extended
covered area is about 4000 square feet. He stated the building has shower facilities and the
offices look out onto the tennis courts. The multi-use room faces the terrace which open out
onto the tennis court area. There is an open area outside the building for vending machines.

Wendy Hsu, Project Architect, described the building exterior. The building is wood
construction with a metal roof which is rust colored.

It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Ms. Michelotti, that the design of the
Pleasanton Tennis and Community Park Administration Building be approved.

07/18/95 -7-
