Wednesday in August, and then presented at the Council's first meeting in September. Mr.
Roush stated that if we go ahead with the 2nd and the 7th of August, notices will have to be sent
out July 19th to accomplish those time lines.

Ms. Michelotti felt that the Council needs communication back from the County before
the special meetings take place and the County gets the wrong impression.

Mr. Pico stated that the City of Pleasanton is still ahead of the City and County of San
Francisco process and he didn't want the County to get to LAFCO and get approvals before
Pleasanton can get to LAFCO.

Mr. Roush stated that the City can communicate with the County by phone that this is
what we are doing; not just putting the notice in the mail. We don't want this to be counter-
productive if we decide to work together jointly.

Mayor Tarver stated that the Board knows what we're doing but it still needs to be what
kept informed as to what is going on. But we need to communicate that the City is trying to
protect itself if we can't have a joint process.

Mr. Roush stated that we could communicate to the County that if it could get us the
joint proposal we could make the presentation at the Council's meeting on August 1st. If
progress is being made we could continue the Planning Commissions meeting on August 2nd,
or let that go forward and then could continue the Council's meeting on August 7th to
somewhere later on in the month.

Mr. Pico stated the City and County of San Francisco should be noticed too but that we
still are interested in the joint planning process.

Thurman Caudill

Mr. Pico mentioned the passing of Mr. Thurman Caudill. He asked to commend him
for his services and to add his name to the plaque in Council chambers at the August 1, 1995
Council meeting.

Traffic Issues

Mr. Pico requested staff investigate mitigation measures for the lower Angela traffic
problems and First and Neal signalization.

Ms. Acosta mentioned she had received a letter from a resident on Angela and it was
referred to the Traffic Committee.

07/18/95 -21 -
