AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta brought to the Council's attention that Item 4m, the Final Map for Tract <br />6740, Avila of Hacienda, was removed from the agenda at the request of the applicant; Item 4s, <br />of Reduction of Subdivision Bonds for Tracts, 6452, 6439, 6553, 6554, Ruby Hill was continued <br />until July 18, 1995; also a commendation for "distinguished schools" in Pleasanton was added. <br /> <br /> There was also an addendum adding the following items to the agenda: Item 6k, a follow- <br />up discussion with Council regarding the San Francisco Water Department Project; and Item 61, <br />LAVWMA/EBDA Negotiations - staff report and direction to LAVWMA representatives on a <br />modified counter-proposal. <br /> <br />4, CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarvet commented about Item 4n, the preannexation agreement for 3429 Bernal <br />Avenue. He requested staff to consider annexation of this site if possible. Ms. Acosta stated <br />that the applicant is willing to annex as long as there is no cost to the applicant. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico commented he is voting NO on Item 4i. He stated the amount of money <br />charged would be minimal and he thought the administrative accounting of the monies was not <br />worth the effort. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti presented the proclamation for June 10-17, 1995, as the ValleyCare <br />Health Library & Ryan Comer Cancer Resource Center Awareness Week. <br /> <br /> Ms. Janey Eddelman, Director of the ValleyCare Health Library & Ryan Comer Cancer <br />Resource Center, thanked the City of Pleasanton and the whole tri-valley area for their support <br />and efforts. Ms. Eddelman stated that there will be a banner in town, along with handouts on <br />each door step to publicize the library. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pat Kernan, Chairman of Save the ValleyCare Health Library Committee, stated that <br />on behalf of the Foundation, he wanted to thank the Council and the City for keeping the <br />library's doors open. He stated the goal is to raise one million dollars. The money will be used <br />to keep the library open, which is available to anyone regardless of which type of medical <br />facility is used. He stated even the school district was using the library for science classes. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver presented the proclamation for "distinguished elementary schools". He <br /> stated the California Distinguished School Program began in 1985 to honor elementary and <br /> secondary schools as outstanding examples of successful teaching and learning, and strong parent <br /> and community involvement. The schools honored are Alisal, Donlon, Fairlands, Lydiksen and <br /> Vintage Hills. Mayor Tarvet then honored the five school principals: Steve Mohar from <br /> Donlon; Mike Midkiff from Fairlands; and Joe Ketrick from Vintage Hills.
