Mr. DeLander stated that there is both, plus a bicycle path. He also answered that it
takes one acre for parking 100-110 cars. He mentioned that the County property (dirt) will most
likely be available.

Ms. Mohr asked what happened to the suggestion of artwork in the station.

Mr. Middlebrook stated there was one artist that offered to so some paintings, but there
were no funds for that at this time; nor have there been plans for an art program.

Tom Pico asked if there would be wind screens at the station and also asked when the
station will become usable by the public.

Mr. Middlebrook said there are some wind screens that are 12-16 feet long and are used
on three sides of the station. BART is hoping that the station will be operable by December
1995, but there have been many delays due to the rain.

Mayor Tarver asked if all the contracts have been awarded. He also asked what is the
total amount spent on this project.

Mr. DeLander said that BART encountered protests with the last contract because the
contract didn't go to the lowest bidder and BART is now considering that protest. This project
has now spent about 60 % of the $500 million budgeted.

Jack Dove, a member of the Circulation Subcommittee, said that originally 1900 parking
spaces were to built at West Dublin, 2600 at Hacienda and 2500 spaces at Livermore; or
approximately 7000 spaces in all. Since the end of the line was contemplated somewhere rise,
the Subcommittee suggested 6000 spaces total.

Mr. DeLander described the proposed Livermore site, the funding and schedule.

Comments on the Del Prado Property Matter

Ms. Dorene Paradiso, 3168 Paseo Granada, felt it unfair and unwise for members of the
Council to go against the School Board's decision-making, whether or not the Council agrees
with the Board's decisions on the Del Prado site. She suggested that the Councilmembers might
use David Steibel to mediate between themselves and the School Board.

Mayor Tarver clarified that the issue is not whether or not the school goes on the site
there but whether or not the City is going to amend the general plan.

05/16/95
-8-
