.: Ms. Mohr asked what the life expectancy of a street light pole is and what happens to " lights on private streets. Mr. Lum explained they last a long time and there will be sufficient time to acquire funds for replacement when necessary. He further explained that street lights on private streets would be private property and not maintained by the City. Mr. Tarver asked why the City would contract for maintenance. Mr. Lum explained that it was less expensive. Mr. Pico asked if this was the first step in forming a lighting district. Mr. Lum said it was not, that is a totally separate issue. No action was required or taken on this item. 10. REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER Item 10a Resolution Establishing Operaling Procedures for lhe Economic Development AdvisOry ~ COmmiltee (SR 95: 10) Gall Gilpin presented the staff report. Ms. Michelotti asked for clarification on the membership and participation of subcommittees. Ms. Gilpin indicated there were currently 14 active members and the new procedures wn:,,id establish mare fiexibiiitv with regard to categories of membership. Ms. Acosta presented a brief history of the category membership. It was recommended that this kind of committee is more functional with a smaller membership. The public is invited to attend and participate in the subcommittees, but would not be members. Ms. Michelotti wanted to be sure there is some report of its activities back to Council. ' Ms. Dennis felt there might be a need for a; task force to address a certain area and she asked how that would be accomplished.
