It was moved by Mr. Pico, 'seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. 95-05, approving the Mayor' s proposed 1995 appointments to local and regional committees as set forth in the attachment to the Resolution. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Mohr, Pico, and Mayor Tarver NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Item 8b SeleCtion of ViCe MayOr for 1995 (SR 95: 18) It was moved by Ms. Dennis, seconded by Ms. Mohr, to adopt Resolution No. 95-06, appointing Thomas P. Pico, Jr. as Vice Mayor for 1995. The roll call vote was a~ follows: AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Mohr, Pico, and Mayor Tarver NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Item 8c Annointment of Alternate member for Art in Public Places Committee (SR 95: 17) Mr. Tarver briefly summarized the staff report. Council discussed the proposals for reorganization of the Committee and it was determined that will be discussed in detail when the matter comes back before Council. Ms. Mohr urged that consideration also be given to transforming the Economic Development Committee into a Commission. Mr. Tarver was not so much concerned about whether the An Committee is a "committee" or "commission", his main concern was citizen participation, and not having a Councilmember as a member but rather as liaison. Ms. Michelotti also had questions regardi'~g the differences between committees and commissions, specifically regarding the Environmental Monitoring Committee. It was moved by Mr. Tarver, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. 95-07, appointing David Wright as an alternate member of the Art in Public Places Committee. 01/03/95 - 18-
