SPECIAL PRESENTATION TO SGT. THOMAS FENNER <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver described the actions of Police Sgt. Thomas Fenner when he entered a <br />burning house to save an 80 year old woman. Mr. Tarver then presented a commendation to <br />Sgt. Fenner. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bocian also indicated the City is very proud to have Mr. Fenner on its staff and also <br />commended him. <br /> <br /> Sgt. Fenner thanked the Council and his family, because they were involved that day as <br />well. He urged everyone to be involved in their community or neighborhood. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver again announced the meeting to be held on July 25, 1996. <br /> <br />4, CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, seconded by Ms. Miehelotti, that the foBowing actions <br />be taken on the Consent Calendar: <br /> <br /> Jack Dove, 3263 Vineyard, referred to Item 4j regarding the improvements to the First <br />Street Bridge at Arroyo del Valle. He expressed his appreciation for this project, especially in <br />view of the fact that the Madden project did not provide access for the elderly to get to the <br />downtown area. He also would like the General Plan to include provisions for the master trail <br />system to include this area and the design should make sure the trail is on the fight side of the <br />street. <br /> <br /> a. Approve the City Council Minutes for July 1 and July 2, 1996. <br /> <br /> b. Accept improvements for the various Water and Sanitary Sewer Facility, Project <br /> Nos. 921011 and 902041; authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of <br /> Completion; authorize final payment to Alan A. Bradford Inc., in the amount of <br /> $8,074.68; authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $50,625 to Alan <br /> A. Bradford Inc. thirty days after filing the Notice of Completion; approve <br /> contract Amendment No. 4 with G.S. Dodson & Associates in the amount of $15, <br /> 797 as compensation for additional construction management, office engineering <br /> and inspection services; authorize the City Manager to execute Contract <br /> Amendment No. 4 with G.S. Dodson & Associates. (SR96:216) <br /> <br /> c. Amend Traffic Appendix Section 12j-3 (No Parking Zones for Vehicles in Excess <br /> of Twenty Feet in Length) deleting "Junipero Drive, both sides from Sunol <br /> Boulevard to Tomes Way," and replacing it with "Junipero Street, south side, <br /> from Sunol Boulevard to Tomes Way. "; amend Traffic Appendix Section 5 (No <br /> <br />07/16/96 -9- <br /> <br /> <br />
