That was deemed to be adequate to the year 2005. Staff felt there should be an
additional number as a buffer to go beyond 2005. BART estimated ridership will increase by
2.3% per year, so staff projected that for fifteen years and calculated 4,500 parking spaces for
the East Dublin/Pleasanton station. He felt 6,000 would be adequate for both stations.

Mr. Tarver felt this amendment eliminated the west BART station.

Ms. Michelotti was concerned there would be fewer parking spaces than needed at the
West station.

It was moved by Mr. Tarver, seconded by Ms. Michelotti, to modify the Steering
Commlttee's recommendation as to Program 7.2 on page 111-14, to read as follows:
"Request BART to plan for a total of 6,000 parking spaces at the East and West
Dublin/Pleasanton BART stations and in the interim, plan for 4,500 spaces at the East
Dublin/Pleasanton BART station.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotfi, Mohr, Pico, and Mayor Tarver
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

07/02/96 -34-
